White staining on exterior brick wall

Does anybody have any tip, ideas or suggestions on how to remove some very unsightly white marks on the outside brickwork . I have tried wire wool, brick cleaner and even attempted to paint a badly defaced brick with a coat of paint that was similar to the actual color of the bricks , although not specifically BRICK paint. I kinda got the desired effect as the painted brick is camouflaged, along with the non-stained bricks. I would appreciate anybody's input, thanks in advance. Sam

If you have another brick try "CLR"....sounds like vinegar might not be strong enough. My guess is it's from your water.. If you don't have CLR on hand try baking soda and vinegar made into a paste....use a wire brush to scrub, but let the vinegar sit awhile.

Try bleach, I use that alot on my brick and concrete on my porch that goes all around my house. Than try to scrub it out with a hard toothbrush or some kind of kitchen scrubber.
