DIY Faux French Enamel Tags

I love all things French especially antique French brocante items. One of my favourites are enamel tags and signs, especially old, chipped ones.
If I could afford to travel to Paris and shop the flea markets to buy some I would, but I can only do that in my dreams... So I tried to figure out how I could make them using some techniques that I learned from the FARRAGOZ online course that I am taking. After some trial and error, I came up with a result that I am happy with.
These are the wood tags that I began with. You can find them at Walmart in the craft section or at most craft stores. They are less than 15 cents a piece. You can basically use any wood shape. Thinner wood is more realistic.
These are the basic steps. All you need is black acrylic paint, gesso, an exact or putty knife, vinyl numbers or ready made scrapbooking numbers and MOD PODGE to protect them with . You can get more detailed information on all the steps on my blog.
I used my Silhouette Cameo machine to cut out the vinyl numbers. I even share the links to the free fonts that I used.
Here you see a few of the things that I have attached them to. They would look great added to just about anything don't you think!
