I planted Anemone coronaria De Caen and Anemone blanda Blue in April 2013. They finally have taken off. Wow, can't wait to see the blooms! I'm on a mission to have the best garden in my neighborhood. On my To Do list, I'm planting the following:

    You are brave trying to grow delphiniums from seed, Pamela! And congratulations on having standing red cypress (Ipomopsis rubra) on your list. That is a great hummingbird and butterfly plant, but do keep in mind that it is a biennial, meaning it will grow this year but not flower until next year (and then die).

    I'm sort of a daredevil. If it grows, it grows. If not, I try not to get upset because I know I'll just find something else too plant. But, I don't think that it is fair for local nurseries to sell seeds that won't grow in your area:-(
