How to make your carpet look like new and refreshed?

I've recently had my carpet cleaned and of course it rained right after. The dog went out side and came back in with the Oklahoma red dirt on her paws? And before I moved in I think a dog was there because it smells a little like pee?

There are products on the market for "pee" smell's....club soda works if it just happened. 20 mule team works as well, cover the carpet with it, but keep pets off.....brush or sweep it into the carpet fibers;let it sit for a day, then vacuum. My daughter has two dogs and three cats, so she worked in area's that could be covered in a sheet until she could vacuum the next day. Sometimes you need to reapply. Dollar Tree carries a canister of powder called "Pardon My Pet"....it seems to work rather well. I have an elderly cat... As for the red clay....maybe invest in a "spot bot"? Also keep a towel by the door to dry the feet of the dog. Good luck!

I had a home with really BAD carpet. We cleaned it with a rental steam cleaner, spent about $200 for the rental and cleaners. Did this 3 times and when it dried it didn't look much better. I thought we'd have to replace it but didn't have the money. About 6 months later I called Stanley Steamer...when they were through it looked brand new. Don't mess with personal steamers they only work on mildly dirty carpets. I was amazed and wished I'd called them first, if cost about half what we spent the first time and it was amazing! Also don't have Scotchguard treatment. The next time I did this and it ATTRACTED dirt, within a few weeks it looked dirty again. Good luck.

Also a professional company like Stanley Steamer will get more of the soap and water out of it so it dries faster and doesn't attract so much dirt.

White Vinegar. Directly on and in a bowl sitting somewhere! Excellent for paint smell too
