How to Age Pallet Wood

Easy
Love pallet wood, but, prefer a aged look? You can create that aged look in just a few hours!
Pallet Wood is one of my favorite ways to upcycle! Not only are pallets free, but, it's wood. They are used to transport heavy shipments to their destination and then tossed out as quickly as they came in. That's good for us DIY'ers because we can create treasures without a lot of money!
I have my own sources in my hometown just outside of Kansas City. They often call and tell me to come get the pallets sitting out back. When it's "one of those calls" I'm sure to bring the trailer along so that I can pick them up all at one time!

Have I ever said how lucky I am that my husband owns his own landscaping business?!?
So this is what pallet wood looks like when I bring it home. Usually I let the pallet wood sit outside to let it get whethered and aged. But, there are times that I do need to get a project done and it's time effect just to age it myself.

It's really pretty simple. You'll need to following:

Acrylic Paint in the following colors: White, Cream, Black, Burnt Umber and Raw Umber

3″ Chip Brush

1″ Brush

Pallet Wood

Sponge

Mixing Containers

Rustoleum Clear Matte Spray Paint

Layer on the colors and spray with a clear matte for a complete and finished product! To see how to age pallet wood with step by step instructions or for a video visit the link below. I'll see you at DivaofDIY.com!
