'A Goodwill Find Turned Shabby Chic Design'

$2.00
30 Minutes
Easy
Not all makeovers have to strain your brain or break your cash game. For merely $2 this classic red miniature gumball machine gets a simple makeover in under 30 minutes.
The classic red gumball machine purchased for $1.91 at Goodwill.
After a simple dismantling (no tools required) I taped it up and brushed away. I went with a paint I had from previous projects (so no additional costs there).
To close up the 'dispensing slot' I simply used cardboard (because that just happened to be the closest material sitting next to me). I traced the dimensions of the slot (both sides), cut them out, glued the pieces together and then to the plastic dispensing piece itself. However, I suppose one could bypass this step, and leave it open if they desire a 'button dispenser'.
The deal is sealed on the 'dispensing slot', and a quick dab of paint (not pictured) conceals the entire piece below the buttons.
Once the paint is dry reassembly can be completed and the buttons (or what you so desire) can be put in through the top (before the cap is in place), then with a simple twist of the cap the buttons are secured and the project is complete.

I hope you enjoy, and remember not all makeovers have to strain your brain or break your cash game! Happy 'DIY'ing'!
