$1 Chair Makeover and Slipcover Tutorial

I bought this chair at an auction for $1. It was comfy but one of the springs had 'sprung'. My hubby made quick work of fixing the broken spring and I used the chair as-is for a few months. When I needed a project as part of a group blogger project challenge I decided it was time for the makeover of this chair. I had the fabric, ribbons, and paint all on hand so it was basically a $1 chair makeover since all the stuff was leftover from other projects or just in my stash for 'someday'.
Not horrible but there were some stains on the fabric and there just wasn't any WoW factor.
Broken spring was firmly put back in its place.
legs of chair were painted white with some leftover paint from my stash. Then I used frog tape to tape off the bottom of the legs and added some gold-dipped bling.
For all symmetrical furniture you can work with the fabric right side against the piece and pin right where you want it sewn. This shows the corner of the seat.

I really like the way the black and white stripe looks with the gold-dipped legs and the gold ribbons.

It's lovely, I redo a lot of furniture. Do keep in mind that just because you already had fabric and paint and ribbon doesn't mean you didn't pay for it at some point, this project was not $1......hometalk lstwhile are smarter than you think
