Repurposed Roof Wind Turbine.

I'm being quite lazy today thinking about what plants and seeds I'd like to try this season and reading about how to grow pumpkins here in Texas. Apparently I won't have to sow the seeds until June or July for a fall pumpkin patch, when I remembered about my repurposed roof wind turbine pumpkins. I had my husband drag them down since they needed replacing anyway, so I could get my creative craving on last year. I think they'd be pretty cool marking the future pumpkin patch.

The before picture, this one is on our garage. Yeah, another future pumpkin. My husband removed the bracket there over the top and the bottom flashing parts and drilled a hole in the top for the pumpkin stem.

The stems are crooked sticks from our yard. The leaves are from one of those small packages of fall leaves you can get anywhere, especially around Halloween and Thanksgiving.

I used some Rust-Oleum brown spray paint I had already to basecoat them and these are the paints I used to highlight them and give them a little bling. The wired jute was painted green to go with the stick stem and leaves.

Sure wish I could find several of these to redo for our front walkway before this fall rolls around. Hope you enjoyed this repurpose idea.

Now, Vicki, this is the sort of up cycle that I need to see. I love this! I am not big on storing large seasonal items anymore because of all the back and forth but I would store these and use them EVERY year! Thank you!!
