I wanted to cover the Television nook and bring in some driftwood elements to my beach house design. Although buying the door hardware and a ready made Barn Door was too expensive for my budget.
I managed to find the track and wheels on ebay for $140 but door 4'x4' was pricing out around $400 so my husband and I made this one from 1x6" Pine boards. It is screwed together from the back except for the Black bolts on the cross beam.
I used Minwax Classic Grey 271 stain and then washed it with heather green, light blue and white paints thinned down with water.
I found the wreath at Joss and Main. The only thing I may change is I am looking for a vintage handle in the shape of a sea horse.

Love this! How do you keep the door from swinging out at the bottom?

Love it but I wonder if you used two halves, instead of one solid door, could the two halves then slide away from the center? I have bookcases on both sides of my fireplace that prevent one barndoor from clearing the TV but sliding them apart from the center might work.
