Upgrading brass chandelier question

I have located a three tier brass chandelier to use as a statement piece in the master-bedroom. I'm going to paint it black and add red crystals. My questions is how do I brighten the candle stick part, they have yellowed. Is there a paint that will stand up to the heat of lightbulb?

Try using white contact paper. Simply cut it to the height of the candle and slightly wider than the circumference and wrap it around. I tried this more than fifteen years ago on a pair of electric candelabras and the candles still look like new.

I like Zanna's idea, but I am sure that you could use ordinary heat-resistant spray paint for the entire chandelier, as well as the candle stick part. Zanna's suggestion will work. I did my bedroom sticks black to match my décor many years ago.
