Reclaimed Wood Wall

Fresh Crush

Look at this face... it's a happy face. Recently, we had the opportunity to save some vintage barn board. We learned this crumbling old farm house was going to be burned down, it obviously wasn't safe anymore, and really couldn't be used for much. So, we sprang into action, crowbars in hand, so we could save those lovely, chippy boards.

Great job! Love saving and using old things with a history. It preserves them so nicely!

This is absolutely gorgeous! I have a place I can get some of this old wood but wondered about mold and termite issues. I so want to put some in my house! What did you do about the mold on the backside of the wood? And the 'funky' smell that comes with the really old wood? Have been trying to come up with ideas to just reuse it outside, but would love to use it like you did.

That makes sense. I just thought some of your wood looked moldy. I guess it is just aged in a way that makes is have that color. Thanks for your input. And again, I love your 'new' wall!
