DIY Belgrave Headboard

I love the simplicity of a belgrave headboard but hate the idea of paying hundreds for a custom upholstered one for our master bedroom. Turns out... you guys! This is SUPER easy to make for, oh... $50 in wood and then whatever you wanna pay on some killer fabric! I did this in 2 afternoons and have slept like a baby every since. So maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but it looks great in our bedroom at least.

I MADE that headboard. I'm still kind of impressed myself. It wasn't nearly as complex as I was expecting!

I started with some 3/4" plywood, a 1x10 board and two 1x4 boards. I used a jigsaw to cut the 1x10 to the belgrave outline and screwed this onto the plywood.

I had to sew two widths of my fabric together in order to keep the fabric going in the right direction (up and down). Then I sandwiched some foam and batting under the fabric and wrapped it tightly around my plywood headboard base.
About a jillion miles of cording later and I was ready to glue it in place to hide my staples.
I LOVE how it looks in our bedroom. Clean lines and chic.
This is how it looks in our new master bedroom in our current house. Just as great!
