What is your accent color? Think on that. Hope you get some good answers.

Pick a color that brings out the undertone in your neutral. From the picture, it looks like the neutral has a hint of yellow. Since you don't want anything too drastic, buy a sample of a color you like and try it first. I like bold colors, so I would go a bold color that went with whatever linens or cookware I had.

Look in your closet !!! Do you have a favorite color in there that makes ytou happy ??? Go with that color !!!!! If your kitchen is neutral, you can use any color for an accent or pop of color !!! There will ALWAYS be people who won't like red, or green, or whatever, but never mind them !!! LOL Just go with what YOU love !!! YOU are going to look at it every day !!! Good job on the top !!!

What is your favorite color? My neighbor just painted hers a turquoise color and it is beautiful.

It's really hard to give you any advise without seeing the rest of the kitchen.

A deep red would be very nice if you used the red in accents in the room.

Red with a black glaze. I re-did a dresser in these colors and now it sits in my foyer. It's beautiful!

It's hard to know when we don't know what other colors you have in your home, but I really love light blues and greens. They are fresh and fun, and can really brighten up a space. Good luck!

Your color choices are limited only by your likes/dislikes if your kitchen is "super neutral". If you have a favorite color you're already using for accessories in your kitchen, use that. Example: If you're using red kitchen towels or have red canisters, use red. But if you haven't chosen anything for accent colors now you can do that! Pick something fun you'd love to see and use in your kitchen and use that color on your little "island". Have fun incorporating the color that gives you the happiest feeling :-)

I agree with the above posts. However, I am a huge fan of blues and greens and find them to be refreshing and relaxing. If that is the vibe you would want, I would not use red. Just my opinion.
