Upcycled Guitar: Americana Style

Here is a sneak peek at my son's room makeover.
We are sorting, tossing and donating his things... AND upcycling little boy toys for his teen years.
The tattered learner guitar: I had complete permission to do what I wanted with it.
So I distressed it heavily with hard sanding.
Grabbed a music sheet; ripped it up; and burned the edges...
to decoupage it on the face of the guitar.
Then stained the sides and back with blue and red stains.
Then painted the stars and stripes over the decoupage music sheets.
And sealed the surface.
You can see the music sheet and burned edges peek through the white, crimson and indigo colors.
aww... his little cowboy boots...

I want to keep those.
