What kind of paint should I use?

I have 4 PVC type outdoor benches I need to decorate for our school. They have a slick white finish and will be outside in a school playground used by children under the age of 5. I was hoping to use a stamp to put paw prints in areas then maybe a paint pen to write a message. What kind of paint should I use that is durable?

Whatever you decide to do...... use a plastic primer first! No kind of paint will stick for very long without it.

I agree with Dee Beckham. Ihave sme plastic side tables that I use in the yard and have painted them various shades to go with my pool colors. There is a huge variety of spray paint, particularly at Ace. The colors are wonderful. I didn't even sand mine...just make sure they are clean with no oil or grease on them.

Plastic paint they have lots of colors now
  • Nonporous material needs enamel paint, not to be confused with acrylic. You can get inexpensive craft bottles at any craft store. However, being that it will be outside, you will need to seal your project with polycrylic or similar so it will last.

Rustolem spray paint is what I would use but what the guy said about light sanding or roughing it up the paint will adhere better.. The spray cans are awesome the new rustoleum paint works good on plastic metal.
