Industrial Apothecary Cart

Highstyle Restyle
by Highstyle Restyle
After my dad found a curbside china cabinet, we rescued and restyled the hutch into a beautiful barrister-style bookcase. Although the buffet portion wasn't much to look at, I knew it also had huge potential. And I had a vision of transforming it into an industrial apothecary cart.
{BEFORE}
I reached out to the amazing Amy at Her Tool Belt to help draw plans to make my vision a reality.
The buffet was missing a top, which was fine since I wanted something a little more rustic anyway. After removing the doors and drawers, we built new doors with faux apothecary-style panels.
{MISSING ITS TOP}
Creating a finish resembling metal was my favorite part of this project. I layered several glazes on top of the base color and the result was a steel/zinc look. You can read all the details on my blog.

Of all the projects I've restyled, I think this one was the biggest transformation from where it started. The best part is being able to craft three separate pieces from the original china cabinet. Next up is using the doors and drawers to create a media stand.
