Cleaning & Organization: How to get sticky grease off of glass?

Any tips on how to get greasy residue off of glass? I just bought some delicate glass "shades" for some wall sconces I have. They are covered in something really tough to get off. I tried ...»
Windex and it got a little off. Then just soap and water and that got some more, but I could be here a long time trying different things unless someone has something a little more powerful. Thanks for the help! (can't use anything abrasive, it might hurt the finish so nothing baking soda)

scratches as a result of its use. Maybe some lemon juice mixed with your soap? It's natural and non abrasive. Never tried it but thought I'd offer a thought....

That is a yucca plant. Just pulled off the dead stuff. Long stems grow out from them with ...»
bell shaped flowers. They are prickly leaves for sure but if kept neat and tidy they can look nice.

  • This is the bathroom niche before the mural installation
  • The after picture of the niche with the mural.

This is one of our latest projects.

This one began as a canvas original painting, and the image was put on the stone tile. It's the largest reproduction we've done to date. I was very pleased with the quality of this over sized mural, 42" wide by 50" tall.

More great upcycling project ideas using architectural scraps

Since you guys appreciated the coffee table from an old door that my husband built for me, I thought you'd love to see what he can do with old windows, too! Over the years he has built ...»
some seriously cool pieces of furniture and shadowboxes, too. The very first thing he made for me was the window shadowbox to hold my wedding bouquet and bridal portraits. It's one of my most prized possessions.

He used scrap lumber from his grandfather's porch swing to create the red shadowboxes. I painted the red table and distressed it to look old. We make a pretty good team! :)

He doesn't use any plans to build things, but another Hometalker asked for plans for his tables in the coffee table post, so here is a little tutorial I wrote on how he created the hinged window shadowbox table: http://unskinnyboppy.blogspot.com/2008/09/tu...
