Gardening: Is gravel needed in a concrete footer for a brick planter?
I plan on builiding a brick planter adjacent to a paver patio that I am also building. In making a footer to support the planter, do I need to add grevel to the trench before pouring concrete, or can I just pour the concrete in the trench?

Kitchens: I'm shopping for a new oven and have heard that I should avoid one with plastic (?) on the panel above the burners
because it gets greasy and hard to clean. It seems that most of the new ovens have this kind of paneling and the ones with a glass panel are more expensive. Is it worth the cost to go with the glass panels.?
