  • 1. Here's the before. A faux stain glass window I created using Gallery Glass over a decade ago. I used a hand steamer and scraper to remove the design. I'll be honest -- it took some elbow grease.
  • 2. Before I started, I drew out my desired design on a sheet of paper sized to the window. This served as my template.
  • 3. Then I grabbed my faux stain glass Gallery Glass materials, which included self-adhesive leading strips, liquid leading, and crystal clear "color."
  • 4. I applied the leading strips first. They are so easy to work with and can easily be cut, removed, and repositioned. A level ensured the lines were straight.
  • 5. Once the leading lines were in place, I applied the Gallery Glass crystal clear directly onto the glass. When it dried to clear after 24 hours, it added instant character to my 100+ year old home.

Faux Leaded Glass Window

I've always had a fondness for leaded glass windows, but the expense was out of reach. That is until I found a product that let me turn my boring old glass windows into faux stain glass ...»
beauties. I simply applied the product directly onto the existing window. And self-adhesive "leading" strips made the process so much easier. The full tutorial can be found on my blog post ...

Clock Makeover

This clock is very special to our family. Some may say painting it ruined it's charm, but for me, it brought it back to life, and now I display it center stage. Before, it looked like an ...»
old clock that no one noticed, but now you can see all of the beautiful details that you couldn't see before.

If you like it then it's o.k. However I would not paint an antique clock even though you never ...»
plan on selling it, it does take away from its's value. Sitting on the wooden wall not noticable, but on the brick wall noticible. I'd have just moved the clock to the brick wall.

Camping Themed Boy's Bedroom

Our son loves to camp and we love wildlife. This is what resulted when we painted and imagined his room as a mountain camping setting.

The Carved Cherry Media Chest

I was asked to design and build a free standing chest on which to place a large television and house various media components and speakers, with practical consideration of the size, ...»
proportion and equipment ventilation. As audio/visual technology changes continually, the chest was to be of heirloom quality that would retain its individual character and value long after today's purpose is obsolete. Aesthetically, the design evolved as the chest occupies one of the focal points of an arts and crafts style great room. The home is in the town of Cambria, California. A location that is also home to one of the last stands of Monterey Pine forests on the West Coast.

Planning is essential. Concept sketches to dimensional renderings to working drawings, selections of wood, joinery techniques and finishes must be precalculated. My greatest satisfaction continues to be in the process of developing the idea and sifting through the practical ways of making it. This is certainly true as I developed the doors for the chest. The interlocking and open carving of the tree motif is designed and structured for years of enjoyment.
