Vegetable garden

This is my vegetable garden. I paint a different sign and put up for each season or holiday. My compose tumbler is behind the fence.

Our Garden in 2012

Here is what I've been working on along with my fiancee this year. Each year the garden seems to get a little bigger and more expensive. At least this year, we have been winning the battle against the deer.

Garden decor

Don't you just love this one? I think My bike would be something other then pink though. I didn't make this but I sure plan on looking for a worn out ole bike that someone wants to toss out.

Turn your stairs into a work of art

When I I ripped off the old stairway carpet, I debated for two long years on what to do with the stairs. The 'old patina' showing up on the stairs from daily wear and tear fired up an ...»
idea... make them look as if they were made from old crates.

So I got to work creating stencils and painted them with craft paint. Adding creative things such as yardsticks for risers just added to the fun.

The stairs fool nearly everyone coming in thinking I spent a FORTUNE on them, when in reality, they were absolutely free.

Farmhouse kitchen updates

Just wanted to add some updated kitchen photos. We're using two old vintage school desks as a temporary island (too short/improper storage for permanent solution). I added a DIY 'farmer's ...»
market sign' and painted a dresser {microwave cart/BBQ and smoking tool storage near the patio doors}. #MyKitchen #ProudestDIY

Georgia Lakeside Retreat

Think you could "rough it" lakeside in this vacation home? A few years ago AK had the opportunity to work on this home undergoing a complete remodel: Kitchen, Baths, Custom Furniture ...»
Pieces & A Wine Cellar! The material selections gave the home an earthy and rustic feel while still remaining very upscale.

A way to add color and insulation to an old plaster wall without major construction.

I used insulation foam boards, cut into 15"x15" squares. Than I covered each with batting and fabric using duct tape. To hang on the wall I used double-sided velcro so they can be taken down to clean, or rearranged. It really made this drafty room so much warmer.

Pond in a box ?

Ok... I usually do not like kits but we needed a water feature for a recent project and custom was not in the budget. We purchased this "pond in a box" and for around $800.00 it came with ...»
stone and everything. I was suprised how nice it turned out and still allowed for us to be creative with the layout. This is a great DIY project for someone who would like to build a pond and is unsure of what materials they may need. It is not for those who want a large pond but great for a small space!
