Kitchens: Does anyone have any good tips for fabricating a counter top to go in a laundry room above a front loading washer and
dryer? Do to the rigid ductwork required, it needs to be pretty deep and I'm looking for a good economical solution.
I would do a "flat lay" laminate top, or a double rolled post-form top that you remove the second roll. Flat lay, you can get these made pretty much any depth you need. Double rolled laminate bar tops come a little over 36", and can cut to the desired depth for your situation. My guess is, you'll need about a 32" top, and that's no problem with either option. I have used some heavy duty shelf brackets for the counter supports, and 2x2 or 2x4 wall cleats for support.
