A flower vase my husband made! Just stunning!

My husband made this flower vase out of a branch he found in the woods by cutting it in half, drilling a hole for a test tube and then mounting it on a base. I absolutely love it!

  • Made with all kinds of different woods; lilac, maple, walnut, elm, catalpa, rose of sharon and purple heart.

A new little piece I've been working on...

Made with hundreds of pieces of branches from our woods, old shutter louvers and lots of time. It measures 5" x 5" and the heart is made of purple heart wood and we can laser engrave on it.

Started making these little vases and calling them "Love Me Knots"

This one is made out of a birch branch and holds a small test tube for flowers. We engraved "A friend is one who knows the song in your heart and sings it to you when you have forgot".

  • Small bobber dropped into the jug lets you see the water level at a glance.

Keep the water level in check in your pet waterers.

After I let the water run dry in the pet waterer I had the idea to drop a small fishing bobber into the jug so I can see the level at a glance!

What is "clip"?

I have a question for anyone who would care to fill me in... I see everyone "clipping" pics. What is this feature and how do I find out how to do it?

Happy Thanksgiving. May this day of gratitude fills your hearts throughout the year...

I paint these signs and put them in my garden to inspire others.

  • My original glowing "fairyball" at dusk.
  • Daytime shot of my shade garden with the Fairyball. It's on the left of this photo. 3
  • OH NO! A deadly mishap this morning! Time for a new colored gazing ball.
  • This is a top view of the hole we drilled in the log to run the extension cord. The end of the hole is the same diameter as the outside of the gazing ball stem.
  • Feeding the strand of colored lights into the gazing ball.
  • I taped the end of the strand of lights to the extension cord so it couldn't accidently pull out and fall back down that long 31 inch hole in the log.
  • Placing the gazing ball onto the top of the log.
  • This is how the gazing ball nestles onto the log. It just sits there.
  • All finished. Now my Fairyball is green until I can find the perfect replacement color. 1

Lighted gazing ball mounted in an old log / Instructions included!

This is a standard glass gazing ball that can be purchased at many home centers that we mounted on an old log and installed colored lights inside the glass ball. We drilled a hole up ...»
through the center of the log and fished an extension cord from the bottom to the top and into the glass ball after inserting colored LED lights. Then we mounted the log on a concrete base and secured it in place. I broke my original beloved gazing ball this morning trying to get pics so that is the reason for the change on the color of the glass ball.

  • This is Cynthia, a 180 year old sugar maple tree and my favorite tree of all times. She sits on a hill that overlooks our pond and I know she watches over things.
  • This is just a few steps into my backyard. The trees are mostly maple, birch, beech, walnut, butternut, cherry, ash, sycamore and elm.
  • Oh look, there is my hiking buddy Daisy. She's always ready to go on a walk! 1
  • Looking up towards the house. Color, color, everywhere!
  • A few more beautiful trees.
  • This is usually a swamp, but not this year!
  • Lots of deadfall but we can use it for artistic pieces.
  • Just a shot I liked.
  • This is a beech tree. They remind me of elephants.
  • This are leaves floating in the creek with the trees they came from reflected above. 2
  • This is wintergreen.
