Hello;

What kind of soil do i need to put into my wife's raised garden box which is approx 4 feet by 10 feet long and 2 feet high?

She plans to plant tomatoes, cucumbers and in the second box herbs.

In addition to my many projects on the horse fram i am building in sw clermont,florida, i promised my wife i would build a raised garden in our fenced in back year(we have 12 acres, but the back yard is about 200 feet by 75 feet fenced in).

Thank you;Cowboy Larry

    Up here in ATL, I look for screened, enriched topsoil that I buy from a landscape supply yard. Buying topsoil from folks who advertise on telephone poles is a bad idea. Likewise, the cheap bagged topsoil is poor quality stuff.

    You can make good soil by mixing your native soil with organic matter but you have to be able to judge the porosity and nutrient levels of the soil yourself.
