Fort Myers, Fl area, I have bronze aluminum, not cleaned for a while. I don't know what to do with it (paint?) and then probably rescreening? It seems structurally sound.

a good cleaning and rescreening should be all that is needed. I would not repaint.

I agree with Milton. Paint is do-able but very tedious. Just give it a good cleaning and rescreening. With painting the cages, it takes LOTS of prep before painting. If you do decide to paint, use a magic eraser sponge and wipe as good as you can (the secret to those things is frequent rinsing and do not use soap with the eraser -on any project -FYI). If the coloroation hasn't oxidized too much, you can also use car polish to coat it. My husband did ours and it stays fresh looking, doesn't get nearly as dirty as before, and is easy to clean by just rinsing with a hose. We only polish once per year. Ours is white, so I don't know if the bronze will need anymore or less. Trial and error, on your part, I suppose. Also, If it has heavily oxidized, polish or wax will not wipe off and it will be very odd looking. I hope this helps in your decision.
