One of the best ways I have found is to use an oxygen bleach solution.
1. Pour about 1 cup of the oxygen bleach into a five gallon bucket filled with water. Stir the water, be careful not to spill it all over something the bleach could negatively affect.
2. Put some of the water/bleach blend into a clean spray bottle, liberally spray on the

surfaces to be cleaned.
3. Wait about 25-30 minutes before scrubbing the area with a soft bristled brush. An old toothbrush can help get into those hard to reach areas. If the grout is extremely stained, wait one hour before scrubbing.
4. Keep scrubbing until the area is cleaned.
5. When the area is cleaned to your satisfaction, wipe the area down with a wet cloth. It might take more than one bleach/water mixture application and scrubbing to get the area clean.
Sealing your tile/grout will help prevent future stains. I have used a grout sealer brand named "Tile Lab" and never had a problem with it. Make sure that the type of sealer you are using is rated for the type of tile surface you have. Also, it might be a good idea to either replace or touch-up the caulking around the shower with a "tub and tile" type caulking.
We bought a house that had a lot of tile and 30 years of smokers living in the house. The grout was smoke-stained I guess from dirty mop water sitting in the grout. Using a magic eraser works really, really well, but it takes a lot of time, quite a bit of elbow grease and quite a few magic erasers. No harsh chemicals and it seems to get the grout back to the original color. Before I discovered this, I used straight vinegar and a scrub brush which worked pretty well also but took even more elbow grease than the magic erasers.
Check out the grout shield product. My wife and I just finished using it in our kitchen. No more grout scrubbing at all! And it is protected for a very long time. It is a bit tedious to get it on right but it is not difficult. And once you are done you are really done. Then you can move on to something else you want to tackle instead of grout cleaning.
The Hydrogen peroxide worked wonders !! my husband bought this little container for mold remover from Home Depot for about 25.00 .. him and I scrubbed and scrubbed .. it came out eventually.... He resisted on trying my suggestions ......
I poured some Hydrogen peroxide in a area of about 24 x 24 - let stand about 5 min (maybe less)and scrubed just a little and grout is back to original color!! Needless to say we finished
