Mary Ker on Apr 21, 2015I'll bet Elmer's wood glue would work. But as I plan some wicker reweaving, i'll be interested in what other advice you get.Helpful Reply

Dawn on Apr 21, 2015Titebond Original Wood Glue. Do not use Gorilla Glue. It will expand, harden and it is a nightmare to remove from furniture. You have to chisel it away, Add a little water to wood glue and it softens so you can remove.Helpful Reply

Duv310660 on Apr 22, 2015I've used any 'carpenters glue', figuring wicker must have lots of cellulose, just like wood. However. I've noticed that on this site, people often do not make the distinction between wicker and rattan. If you've got a chunk of rattan missing out of your project, you can try filling it in and smoothing over the break with durham's rock-hard putty. I've done this; then you can easily sand and smooth it. It MUST be sealed, tho, because water will degrade it!Helpful Reply
