@CJ Marcley there are a few posts on here that may help - this one seems to offer a few suggestions that may help http://www.hometalk.com/diy/clean/furniture/q-cleaning-tips-cat-urine-removing-leather-chair-5098530 I know for a dog urine problem we had, we soaked the area in vinegar then put baking soda on top, let it dry then vacuumed it up, sometimes more than one treatment was required. If it is a stuffed piece of upholstered furniture, you may be out of luck as the stuffing will be contaminated and near impossible to rid of the odour entirely. Hope this helps.

You could try dabbing the spot with white vinegar. Google the name Shannon Lush she is an expert in stain removal and has published books with Jennifer Fleming here in Australia, Shannon has said a cat can pee 12 meters. She also recommends to use a ultra violet light in a dark room to see where the pee stains are and circle the mark of pee with a piece of chalk then open the light so you can see where the chalk marks are a clean the spots with white vinegar I hope this helps you.

The best formula I've found for removing pet urine from colorfast carpet/fabric is:

1) blot as much urine as possible using a clean, absorbent, white cloth or towel, pressing straight down & using as much pressure as possible (do not rub or wipe-you'll only spread it further that way)
2. Sprinkle baking soda liberally on the spot & gently work it down into the fabric using a soft brush or a (different) clean, white cloth
3. Thoroughly moisten the baking soda with white vinegar (preferable bc it neutralizes the ammonia in cat urine) or OxyClean Spot & Stain Remover for laundry (comes in spray bottle, or you can mix up some of the OxyClean powder, per the instructions on the label, & put it in a trigger sprayer). Do not soak it, but thoroughly moisten it
4) let the concoction sit until is dry, then vacuum the area to remove all of the baking soda.

This may not remove the discoloration, but it should remove the odor & prevent kitty from going there again. I hope it works for you!

When my dog was a pup, he decided that the corner of the sofa was a good place to practice his marking skills......yuck! Didn't even realize he was doing it because it was on the back corner of the sofa. Only noticed the smell and investigated..... First I put a pan under the corner of the sofa and flushed it with clean water several times. Then I used laundry detergent, scrubbed and rinsed again several times. Since I still detected an odor, I purchased Natures Miracle Urine Remover and used that. It worked great! no smell, no stain, nothing. Nature's Miracle also makes one just for cats.

Our cat urinated on an almost brand new love seat. We took the cushion cover off and soaked the spot in Natures Miracle Stain and Odor remover. We also soaked the batting and foam cushion with Natures Miracle. We let it set for a day and then rinsed the cover and cushion with water and let them dry in the sun a few times. There is no stain and no discernible odor. And the cat hasn't used the love seat as a litter box since then.
