I love to upcycle all sorts of things and my mind is always churning away, trying to come up with new ideas. One day, as I was throwing away a dish soap bottle, it occurred to me that it is somewhat shaped like the human torso. Why not try to make a mini mannequin?
They can be used on your dresser, as isor to hold jewelry. Make a shorter one (see above) and hang bracelets on it. Make it longer and hang necklaces.
Start with a dish soap bottle, a box cutter, some torn paper bags, and some glue. Cut your bottle down to size and then begin covering it with the scraps of paper bag. I used Modge Podge to glue the pieces on.
I stamped some numbers on one of the scraps to glue under the neckline. Many antique mannequins have numbers on them.
I used a doll stand from the dollar store to use as my mannequin stand. After spray painting the stand and the bottle lid, I glued the stand to the bottom, inside of the bottle. Check out my blog post for more specific instructions.

Have a question about this project?
I got one of those acrylic holder 'things' with arms from a large well known store, and while it does the job, the 'thing' is soul-less. Guess what I'm going to be doing!?!!? Thanks!!
Yes I will. I wonder if I could use some fabric instead of paper????
