I am in the process of painting mine and they are also white. Am using Rustoleum's Countertop then Chalboard paint. Will have the results by Wednesday. Will certainly share the outcome with you:)

Kristine I have a question why are you using chalkboard paint on counter tops? I'm kind of confused (but then again when aren't I lol)

@Theresa Schebaum The chalkboard paint along with the countertop paint results in a finished product that looks like soapstone. I am using a black satin Rustoleum countertop color & then the black matte finish in the chalkpaint. You can write down your grocery lists, honey do notes, etc. right on the counter! The brand I am using is 100% food safe although I don't eat right off my countertops...well; most of the time! lol

I went to Home Depot 2 years ago and was introduced to Formica Paint, kind of an epoxy. Patience as it has to dry for a LONG TIME but ugly white became sage green! I did 2 coats as someone had created some "art" with sharpies!!!!!!

Tanks all for the suggestions since this is a mobil home and in a hurricane prone area, don't want to spend too much. Will shop for these products.

I have used Giani Granite myself. You can either go on their website or write "counter tops" in the search box above. Good luck.

Has anyone done the contractors paper stained surfaces with a colored stain like red or green?? Also, does the paper have to be torn or can you just crumble larger pieces slightly? I like the idea and some training but not the patchwork effect. As for covering your counter, don't rule out tile. It's very easy to do and if you use the larger tiles you won't have many grout lines. You can great buys at tile outlets or Habit for Humanity stores. If you get the right type tile they are VERY resilient and really not difficult to keep up.

Rustoleum has a cabinet kit and a countertop kit. They are both wonderful. I have seen the paper bag floors done. They are beautiful. They look like slate. I have no idea about on counters .
