Good morning,
I am looking at creating litter bins from surplus paving slabs, has anyone got ideas or done this before? The bins must be vandal proof.

I have never done this before. People do vandalize everything in one way or another. I think I would start by building strong sturdy boxes and asking Home Depot experts what to use to secure to the boxes. Good luck!
  • Hi Sonia, pavingstones can be assembled in a rectangular shape with open top to accept a plastic bag or receptacle. The pavingstones would be stacked on top of each other and either glued or mortared together. The same could be accomplished using segment retaining walls. The concrete pavingstones and wallstones are extremely durable and the receptacle would way approximately 1,500 lbs.

Having the garbage bins be made out of cement sounds like a good place to start. People that are really determined might still be able to do something to it, but it will be harder. I'd go to a hardware store and ask them the best way to go about building something sturdy like that. http://newcastleskipbins.com
