My client wanted window treatments in the eating area.

She wanted drapes to stop the Plantation Shutter slats from showing up on her flat screen TV. The TV was located in the keeping room. The drapes connected by clip rings were very functional to slide back and forth. I usually do not suggest such a heavy window treatment for the eating area. In this case the window treatment drapes and valance worked out very well. I recovered the chair seat bottoms. I added custom placements, custom area rug, pillows and a centerpiece to pull the whole eating area together.

I usually make custom window treatments out of fabric by the yard. The fabric used in the creation of these window treatments came from ready- made drapery panels purchased at the store. I took the panels she had and transformed them to give my client the look she needed for her eating area.

Color added and problem solved. The window treatment did not interfere with the doors function.

I like the curtains...but what was so bad about the white shutters? I think they looked nice.

Hi Chaya, I understand how you feel. The white shutters do look great! Shutters all by themselves or a valance over the top of the shutters (if desired) would have been fine. My client wanted to use drapes to fix the problem with the slats reflecting on the flat screen TV. I was glad she was happy with the results. Happy clients make me happy!
