Any ideas for a new garden table top?

Our garden table made of tempered glass crushed into tiny pieces when an umbrella attached to that table got sent flying by a high wind. It was a square table with "rattan" trim. Looking for inexpensive solution and preferably not glass.

Hi, I found this the other day I'm going to try it on my cracked patio table .. They covered a bird bath with recycled DVD. Depends how the glass fit in...if drop in then cut a piece of 3/4" plywood and trim out with tile or mosaic pattern with a design?

we used a plywood base and ceramic floor tiles. Didn't glue the tiles on as they fit under the table lip so I can change them out when I want. Good luck.
