DIY Backsplash Design and Install

South Cypress
by South Cypress
When Jack resurfaced his cabinets to a beautiful new beige finish, he knew he was going to need to update his backsplash to match. Luckily, he found perfect tile for his project on SouthCypress.com.

The previous backsplash featured white square tile with smaller 2 red glass accent pieces. While it matched the older white cabinets, it didn't fit in well with the new beige color scheme.
Jack removed all of the previous backsplash tile himself. He knew that he wanted to utilize the red glass pieces in the new feature piece, so he conserved those pieces from the demolition.
Jack says that it was a challenge to find 3 x 6 subway tile that worked well with the granite countertop. He says that being able to get samples from South Cypress quickly and with no shipping charge ultimately resolved the selection process.
The finished backsplash! Jack used Storka 5th Avenue Beige ceramic subway tile for the majority of the backsplash, and used Storka Urban Hues Cappuccino glass subway tile with the leftover red square glass for the feature piece.
