    Yes, they really help create that special look! They flower so much and everyone visiting will ask what they are. I wish more people would use them even in the front yards instead or in addition to their backyards.

    Joanne, in Hamden I would not transplant your butterfly bush until spring. Move it at the same time you cut it back, just before it starts to leaf out.

    Just want to chime in with what Douglas said. In hour part of the country, your best bet is to wait for spring to prune back butterfly bush and transplant it. This goes for ornamental grasses too which do not like to be divided in the fall, I learned this the hard way.
