Have a old metal bed laying around and you just aren't sure how to upcycle it? No worries! Leanne Lee, Diva of DIY, shows you her new Mother's Day Tradition in it's second year!
You see I try and bring new family traditions to my family because i didn't have very many traditions growing up as a child. My Dad did an AMAZING job raising me, but, we didn't have very many traditions. So if I can make traditions up as I go, I will! Plus, it gives me extra reasons to spend time with my boys...life is crazy and any excuse to spend time with them is good enough for this Momma!
The first step is the boys planted the bed for me while I sat back and gave instructions. While they took a break and grabbed a glass of lemonade I came in and tilled the bed up. I should've just sat back and let them do it, but, I wanted it done right!
The next step was to plant the annuals in the bed. The boys added the flowers along the side of me...I'm not sure why we didn't even grab a picture of this!
With a little time, some flower food ;) and watering the Flower Bed was a great conversation piece when we had guests over for a grill out!

What's one of your family traditions? I'd love to hear about them and possibly add in a few of your ideas!

Just wanted her to know that the bed is late 1800's early 1900's and is valued at $600 to $ 1,000 . I have one from my Great Grandmother and I just priced one in Trinidad Colorado last week . They all were originally White or Black . You might want to bring that one inside :) Shop Goodwill for replacement :) Thanks for listing it brought back memories and fun idea. , Grandma Judy
