Updating the Saddest Hallway in the World

Hello Hometalkers :) This is the beginning of our next makeover - this one is our upstairs hall way and landing area. It was the most awkward space when we moved in. The previous owner had created a weird mishmash of real wood and fake wood trim that was all roughly cut and misaligned. And then there was this bookshelf. It was too deep to put books on, and too shallow to add doors for coats and too far from anywhere else for it to make sense as a linen cupboard. Sigh.
So - we decided to bust it down and incorporate it into the master bedroom.
And we were still left with this. LOL. Don't you love when an 'after' photo looks just as bad as the 'before'? :)
After we finished up our blog office (which is behind that door with the mirror on it and you can see the details in our last two HT posts!) we knew we needed this space to flow with the bright and beachy vibe in the house. What to do?
Paint of course!
Hello Gorgeous! :) For full details on the stencil, colours and a peek at the rest of the space (and our next upcycle!!) check out our blog www.diypassion.com. Thanks for reading and have a fabulous (painty!) day :) - Erin

Ha I love that it was dubbed with the title "saddest hallway in the world." You did a fabulous job, that wall color and stencil is perfect for that spot!

@Hannah V Thanks Girl! The title might have been a bit of hyperbole haha... but it's definitely a hallway that got her groove back now!
