Wooden Mailbox to Shabby Chic Charging Station

My mom has had an old "blah" wooden mailbox sitting in her garage for years. She went through a dejunking phase recently and asked me if I wanted it. I said, "Of course!" She's dejunking, I'm always adding junk. Haha. Anyway, it sat in my craft room for nearly a year before I figured out what to do with it. I turned it into a charging station for our electronics!
I started by drilling holes in the back so the cords would have a place to come through.
I added a wooden applique to the top. Then I gave the whole box one coat of black paint and three coats of white paint. To distress it, I simply sanded down through the white paint until the black paint started showing through.
You'll never believe where I found the antique crystal knobs that I attached to the front.

Now this adorable charging station sits on my kitchen counter and we use it every day! Definitely one of my favorite trash-to-treasure projects!
