Painted rug a possibility??

Has anyone had any luck painting rugs? I was given 2 rugs, brand new, but not my style at all. What type of products have you used to change a rug? Thanks!

You can use latex or acrylic paint with a little glycerine added to make it into a softer fabric paint acrylic and latex soak in and wont come off of rugs.

If you use latex paint does it not make the carpet have rough fibers? What was your formula?

You can get a fabric medium from Joanna or hobby lobby to add to paint.

I have painted rugs with liquid clothes dye...just be sure to use a foam brush and blot it almost dry...it takes some time but the fibers were nice and soft as before the painting
