Tearing up carpet

I lifted a corner section of the carpet to take a peek and was happily surprised to see wood floors that look like they're in decent condition! What's the best way to completely get the carpet up off the floor and refinish the wood floors?

Cut it and start pulling up. You will need to pull up the carpet tacks, and the staples. I used a pry bar and dykes to pull up staples. I would run a hose along the floor when it snagged i had to pull up another one. This is after you think you have every staple up.

...lots of sanding too... Definitely, make sure you get all the staples and nails out...using a good pair of needle nose pliers. It helps with getting those hard to reach staples or nails out. Finish with a nice varnish.

Yay! Give those hardwood floors the love and respect they deserve.
