Homemade Saddle Rack

Here is another project from shop scraps. I built this saddle rack for my wife's dressage saddle from 3/4" plywood, 1/2" plywood, iron-on birch edging, and select pine 1x6 ripped to 1 1/2" for the slats. It was sized based on the profile of her saddle. The unit was assembled with biscuits (to function as tenons for the shelf), dadoes, glue, and a few pins to hold the slats in place during glue-up. After it gets a few coats of polyurethane, I'll add a garment hook to one side for other equipment. The shelf below can hold boots, gloves, helmet, etc. I routed the horse silhouette freehand from a printout sketched onto the side.

This is a perfect project I will make with my granddaughter for her dads birthday! She can help paint or stain it. Thank you for posting

This is a thing of beauty. I love the care that has gone into making this.
