Marble hex tile problem

I had a new bathroom installed, and the marble tiles in the shower around the drain all darkened. My contractor had not sealed the tile yet, and the plumber must have run the water. So we waited two months (!) for the tile to dry out, and then used a marble sealer. I showered once, about two weeks ago, and the tiles are darkening more every day. My contractor has no clue what is going on, I cannot use my shower, and it just keeps getting worse. I am hoping someone can give me a clue.

  • The tiles or grout? Darkening as in mold/mildew look or like they are wet? My gut instinct says they didn't waterproof it properly / or possibly blocked the weep holes allowing water to stay standing. Another part asks what they used to set the marble if all the tiles Got pictures?

Make sure they put the product on the right material. Tile backer or fiber cement board. It the material in the back is wet the grout will always be a tell tale sign that there is going to be eventually failure of the job.
