    I have some old frames- I was wondering if I could paint the glass with chalkboard paint

      Yes, you can use chalkboard paint on windows. It will take at least 2 coats & maybe 3, but it does scratch off easy, so you have to be careful not to bump it into things that can scratch it. You can use a spray sealer on it to help. If using some purchased chalk paints, they may require 30 days to cure. Something else to keep in mind. :)
