‘Thank You BERRY Much!’ Thank You Cards: Easy To Make & Fun To Give

Easy
I came home from grocery shopping the other day and informed my family that they were not to touch the clamshell I bought of fresh strawberries. I needed to photograph them for a special craft project and handmade gift that I had in mind.
I find purchased gift cards are quite expensive to buy so I am looking for new ways to create my own that are easy to make and fun to give. The fresh tasty and ripe strawberries at the grocery store gave me an 'aha' idea to create "Thank You Berry Much!" thank you cards.
What you see here is the raw image of what the strawberries looked liked when purchased. Hmmm… I see are few of them are missing. I’ll just blame that on the mystery strawberry bandit who lives in the house.
I used my DSLR camera but you can use your smart phone or your tablet to take the photograph. Before taking the photograph I rearranged the strawberries so some of the green stems were showing for some variety in the image.

Then I positioned the camera right over top of the strawberries for a top down perspective. This is what the raw image looked like.
I used the photo editing application BeFunky to edit my photograph. It is an online application that has loads of editing tools and features but is really easy to use. To edit this photograph I just used the basic editing tools and the text tools.
After I was happy with how the edited photograph turned out I created a word document so I could fit two photographs per page. Then I used a paper trimmer to trim the images.
I purchased some blank note cards with envelopes and glued the trimmed photographs with rubber cement onto the front of each card.
From one image I was able to print, trim, and glue quite a few ‘Thank You Berry Much’ thank cards quite inexpensively.

I am keeping some of the notes for myself to have on hand for when I need to write a thank you note.

They also make a unique handmade gift. These ten thank you notes look lovely secured with a red ribbon tied into a bow!

I invite you to visit the original post where I provide a step-by-step photo tutorial showing exactly how I edited the raw strawberry photograph.

Take Care,

Thea

Looks good! Where do you buy the ink for your printer? Our printer and ink makes this type of project cost prohibitive.

@Time With Thea I have done something similar at Staples...it was actually a coloured copy on a card, and it was actually cheaper than a glossy pic. Made great family Christmas cards. Thanks for your feedback! :)
