Vinegar and baking soda worked for us. My elderly cat had an accident on one of our pillow-top mattresses. Soaked it with vinegar and baking soda, then sucked it out with our little green clean machine. Then soaked it again, then sucked. Then soaked..sucked.. Took several soakings to get it all out. There are sprays you can use as well that neutralize the enzymes in the urine. Probably do the same thing with them - soak and suck. Good luck :-\

Buy Natures Miracle cat urine remover or another product at your local Pet Value store. It worked for us when we soaked the area and left it for a day then put a fan on it for a few days since it was soaked so deeply by the product. When used a lot to make sure it went down deep to where any cat urine may have soaked. It totally eliminated the smell and stain!

I have had good experience with 'OUST' pet stain and odor eliminator.

Mix baking soda with water to make a good paste. Put all over the stain and leave to dry fully. Then vacuum. Works on carpets too. Best of luck. 04/01/2016

Sprite or Seven Up works too.

Give up and get a new couch. Once cat pee gets in something, it's basically impossible to remove.
  • There are many products especially made to remove human and animal urine, feces and vomit. They work by chemically changing the urine, feces or vomit permanently. Homemade concoctions can't do this. So, look for Kids & Pets, Nature's Miracle or other enzyme cleaners. The enzymes are the important ingredient. Soak the area and let dry with or without a fan. When completely dry, odors will be gone. Of course, if one treatment isn't quite enough, treat again. 😺
