Hi Susan- the simplest way to write on palettes is with stencils and paint. AC Moore and Michaels have a variety of sizes and fonts to choose from. For something a bit more unique, I typically use my "reverse chalking" method. I print out a design on plain copy paper, then rub chalk all over the back side of the printed design. Place the paper on the palette and then trace the design with a pencil. The outline will show up on the palette, ready to be painted free-hand. If you are planning on leaving the palette alone with the large gaps in between, just make sure your graphic is large enough that the letters don't disappear into the gaps.

I usually do the reverse chalking concept, too, except that I actually use graphite transfer paper. Works like a charm!

I use stencils or reverse chalking too. If stenciling just remember to use a small paint brush to fill in the gaps in the letters. That way it doesn't look like a stencil.

sorry but what is reverse chalking? I thought I knew pretty much alot about this but never heard of reverse chalking, can you tell me what that is? thanks ladies
