Grass buildup!

Looking for some type of long handled tool to scrape off the grass under both decks of my sit down lawn mower...I was advised that the buildup of grass will clog the blades and the mower will not be efficient...I am alone doing this chore and find it difficult to reach under to do this...I do have an attachment for a garden hose but that is kinda difficult for me too! Any help appreciated...A claw type tool is on my mind!

    You can buy a lift for riding mowers to lift it up and then my son takes a putty knife and scrapes the grass off the bottom of the deck

      @Delores Snellen Again, I'm alone here, so I was looking for a long reaching tool...possibly a small child's rake;

    All I've ever used is a good solid stick... like a branch from off one of my trees! Free... and it does the job!

    My mower has a hose attachment on the deck so you turn on the water all the way, force of spray will make the grass fall off! If no hose attachment why wouldn't spraying blade area with hose do the same?
