Age is Not a Factor When It Comes to DIY

After trying to hire someone for over a year, I decided DIY was the way to go when it came time to replace my porch supports. Now that I've done it, I understand why a contractor didn't want to take it on. I'm sure it wasn't worth the time and effort for him.
This job was long overdue. These wrought iron porch supports were old, and needed to be retired. :)
After jacking up the porch, the new posts went right in. Who knew two middle-aged women could make such quick work of this DIY project?
Up next was to paint the new wooden posts. Why not paint them before I put them up? good question. It was a time constraint thing. I had to get the posts put up while I had the extra hands of my cousin Terry.
Putting up the plastic drop cloths may seem like a lot of work, but it was worth it to get the great coverage with my Homeright Finish Max.
Next on the list? The ugly and outdated light fixture. I am so glad I finally tackled this job, why did I wait so long?
