All the pieces of furniture in my craft room have come from the thrift store or bought second-hand! It's still "IN PROGRESS" but I will be finished soon! Here's a look at its progress and how inexpensive it's was to furnish!
Serena, you did it again. You really know how to stretch a dollar to find just what you need to make you home work for you and your family.
I have my drawing table, though not awesome vintage like your great find, with a bookshelf at the end and lamp similar set up. Mine not only works for drawing, but as a desk for our grandson to use my mini laptop and color.
Please tell my hubby that Serena! Ha ha ha. Although he doesn't say too much since I've allowed him over the years to college all sorts of sports equipment and power tools. Ofcourse I have an ulterior motive on the power tools. ;^)
Very nicely done. But your room is so neat! I've got craft stuff every which way in mine! lol. My problem is the used stores around here think everything is an antique and so price it at almost the same as new. I have better luck with yard sales.
Sondra, yep, I've seen some thrift stores do that, and it's ridiculous. Where do you live? Check out the Unique Thrift Store chain. They might have one in your area. That's primarily where I shop, and it's warehouse-sized, with decent prices. As for my craft room being so NEAT, it's because I haven't USED it yet. HA! I'm still trying to get the rest of it together, like sew the curtains and what-not. PLUS, I have 3 small kids (ages 6, 3, and 1), and if you know kids, kids and craft rooms

don't mix. LOL Can we say BROKEN machines and UNWOUND spools of thread?? LOL
Oh I so know where you are coming from with children and sewing machines. I finally gave up sewing when our son was awake. He'd come up from behind me and before I knew it his little hand would reach out and twist my tension knob. Used to drive me crazy! I now have a cat that won't leave my thread alone. If I step even a foot away from my machine he's on the table popping the thread off with a whack of his paw, tossing it on the floor and then it's chase the thread for me until I find where the spool is.
Yes, Thrift Diving, with 5 kids I know where you are coming from. lol. I have also always had cats and dogs that don't mix well with craft rooms. Anytime I've left a room the cats run in and lay on whatever I was working on or bit, played with, or clawed it. Door stays closed even when I'm in there. Haven't heard of Unique Thrift Stores, but if I am willing to drive 45 minutes I can find some cheaper stores. They just don't usually have as interesting of stuff and take more planning to go to.
Becky , HA! Turning the tension dial. I have a 3 year old that I could very well see him doing that! I'm still getting things together in there, but I know once I'm ready to use it, it's going to be tough!
Sondra A , wow, 5 kids!! You're one busy woman! My 3 wear me OUT. I wish I would be able to keep the door closed, but hubby uses the

other side (well, CORNER) as a home office and the kids are in and out of there. My 14 month old likes to pull down my crafting scissors! lol As for Unique Thrift store chains, yes, find one! They're worth driving to! Bring a truck :)

Becky, yes, don't you love that set up, with the bookcase on the side? It just totally pulls together the perpendicular look! :)
Thanks for the comments, you all!
