Great article, thanks for posting. -
Remarkable difference....really made the room more inviting and just "fun" to be in! -
Wow, wow, wow! it turned out beautifully. And...were those popcorn ceilings in the before pics? If so, did you scrape them or just paint over? -
Thank you Micci and HandyAndy. We did scrape the ceiling. -
This looks like a completely different room. I bet they are loving it. -
Thanks everyone for the kind compliments; the homeowners were extremely happy - and so were we! -
Fabulous!!! -
We got the same startling difference when we painted our paneled fireplace wall during a remodel. The tiny room instantly looked bigger. Love it! -
The old looked old and dark. The new is open and beautiful. How long did this huge project take? -
Thank you, The entire project took 4 weeks. -
Absolutely beautiful -- what a transformation! We recently moved from a wood paneled daylight basement bedroom in a rental, and I can see that painting would have made a world of difference! -
I like wood paneling, but I'm impressed with what you have done here! Wow, seems so light and airy. Great job, AK! :) -
Back in the day when people used paneling, it was (they thought) to keep from ever having to paint again. Well we all know that didn't work. It has transformed from a dungeon to a penthouse! Well done!. -
That paneling wasn't so bad, a little dark but not too bad. The paint is much much better though! I want to paint the ugly wood cabinets in my apartment but my landlord has a love affair with the ugly wood. I should show her these pictures. -
I love the new look, it's so much brighter, and fresh looking. It's beautiful! -
That panelling just begged to be painted. What an improvement! -
Definitely the new paint. It just expands the whole room. And gives it a cleaner, brighter look. -
Paint -
Thank you all! And good idea, Lorna. "Open" "Airy" "Bright" "Fresh" - All great descriptions of this space. -
The painted room is awesome. The paneled room is dark and depressing...no contest on this one. -
Paint looks so much better and brighter!! -
My den use to look like that, dated....remember its just most likely builders grade stained wood. So happy i had it painted. -
I love it! -
Thanks Marcia, Charlotte, Sheila & Gayle!! -
We remodeled our kitchen in 2006 and totally used pine paneling throughout! No kidding. Everything comes back around. I'm hearing wallpaper now and remember when that went out of style. Since my husband was a professional hanger, we still have a lot of wallpaper in or house too.
