I have a huge bathroom mirror that has glass molding around it. How do I remove the molding without breaking the mirror?

@SLS Construction & Building Solutions LLC do you have any advice for Lorrie?
  • Hmm ouch & no pictures -.depends on how everything was attached / put together. I guess the first thing to try is to see if they used any glue or adhesive on the front - if you have one of those cake frosting tools (long thin flexible blade) and run it around the front of the mirror & behind the molding. If none or you manage to break it free, then do it from the back (no clips right) Hopefully they don't have a backing behind the mirror but if they do you have to remove the whole thing from the wall. Ahh actually first things first - one band of painters tape around the glass molding, the edge where the two meet & an X across the mirror so just in case something cracks it doesn't completely shatter If in any doubt that you can't handle the mirror, etc... I would bring in a glass/mirror company in
